Our Commitment
The Colorado Access to Justice Commission (“ATJC,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to digital accessibility. We aim to make our website accessible and usable by all Coloradans.

Accessibility Standard
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are the standard referenced by Colorado's technology accessibility rules and are widely used to measure website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Colorado HB21-1110.

What We Have Done
Measures we take to make this website accessible include:

  • Designing and testing for full keyboard navigation, without requiring a mouse;
  • Testing with screen readers
  • Writing in plain language, with content reviewed for readability;
  • Using sufficient color contrast, visible focus indicators, and resizable text that works at 200% zoom;
  • Structuring pages with proper headings, labeled form fields, and alternative text for meaningful images;
  • Providing content in accessible HTML;
  • Marking the language of translated content so assistive technology pronounces it correctly; and
  • Including accessibility checks in our process for publishing new content.

Third-Party Content
This website links to and sometimes embeds content from third parties, such as court websites. We do not control the accessibility of third-party content. Where we know of an accessibility problem with essential third-party content, we will work to provide the same information in an accessible way.
